Birdsong, Birdman is the first song from the new record A Second Wind.

In 2024 I saw Sean Ronayne on television. It was a documentary called Birdsong.
I was so taken by this great Corkman, and his love of birds, and his work to record them.
This is a song in his honour.

Dear friends,
23rd of May, 2025 is a special day.
I will release my 24th record on the day of my 70th Birthday.
There was a little doubt in 2024 that I would see my 70th year.
24 days in hospital, an open-heart operation in November ’24, has given me a second wind, and a new lease of life……
In the months before going to hospital, I wrote and recorded 11 songs and 2 instrumentals, in the hope that I would get to see my 70th year.
And so it is……
The record is called A SECOND WIND, and is dedicated to the surgeon, the doctors, the anaesthetist, the nurses who kept me alive last year.
And the family and friends who supported me during this time.
There will be some shows, when I am a little stronger.
